Job Opening: Front of House
Job Summary:
We are seeking a friendly, motivated, and reliable front of house specialist to join our small team. You will be a primary point of contact for our guests, ensuring a positive dining experience through excellent service, attentiveness, and a genuine passion for hospitality. You will be responsible for taking orders, serving food and beverages, maintaining cleanliness, and resolving customer issues. This will be a part-time position to start, approximately 24 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
Greet guests warmly and seat them efficiently.
Take food and beverage orders, using a Point of Sale (POS) system.
Maintain knowledge of the menu, specials, and ingredients.
Provide recommendations and answer questions regarding menu items and beverages.
Serve food and beverages promptly and accurately, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Assist with the cleaning and preparation of the dining area and shared bathrooms, set up for service, and maintain cleanliness in the dining area.
Process payments accurately and efficiently.
Handle customer inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
Collaborate with the kitchen and bar staff for smooth service and accurate order fulfillment.
Assist in other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a front of house position is preferred.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Knowledge of food and beverage service procedures.
Valid food handlers and OLCC permits (or the ability to get them before starting).
Ability to handle cash and POS systems accurately.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

We’re a new restaurant in Astoria, OR serving an updated take on Mediterranean food (mostly Spanish and Moroccan) in a welcoming environment. We use local ingredients when possible to craft affordable, delicious food.
